Notice Title

Resources to support Board Level Maternity Safety Champions and NEDs

Notice Description

NHS England are looking to procure a supplier to build on an established Safety Culture Development Programme for Board Level Safety Champions (BSCs) and Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) within Maternity and Neonatal Services. To date, the programme has provided specialist training focusing on creating the conditions for optimal cultures and has been targeted at BSCs and NEDs. The aim of the programme has been to train and equip leaders to be able to positively change behaviours within their organisations and raise the awareness of safety culture in maternity and neonatal services. This has been done through a series of online sessions for BSCs and NEDs including theory and thought leadership masterclass sessions led by experts, peer learning and discussion forums and community of practice sessions to explore what a good safety culture looks like. The purpose of the programme is to improve the safety and quality of care delivered to mothers and babies by enabling leaders to understand the relationship between safety improvement and safety culture in order to enable change.
