Hooked on Group is the selected supplier. The requirement was evaluated through the criteria set out in the procurement, with selection based solely on those criteria. The procurement category is services and delivery is in the North East of England.

For a future requirement of this kind, credible suppliers would need to combine business start-up and development consultancy with practical mentoring and employability support. Relevant capability includes advising people at the earliest stage of self-employment or business formation, helping them develop viable ideas, and building enterprising skills and entrepreneurial confidence. Suppliers should be able to deliver consistently through several formats: confidential one-to-one mentoring, structured workshops, on-campus incubator or residency activity, and intensive bootcamp events. A strong competitor would understand the needs of university students and graduates and be able to work within an educational setting, while providing a reliable service across the North East. The procurement’s SME suitability indicates that a focused specialist provider can be credible, provided it can demonstrate the required quality and delivery capacity.
