Summary of the contracting process

The Civil Nuclear Police Authority (CNPA) / Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is currently seeking tenders for the provision of a Weapon Engagement Simulation System (WESS). This procurement falls under the category of training and simulation in firearms and ammunition. The tender is in the active stage with a submission deadline of 13th September 2019. The anticipated contract period will commence on 1st April 2020 and run until 31st March 2023, with options for two additional extensions, potentially extending the contract to a total of six years. The procurement process is being conducted through an open procedure.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the development and supply of simulation technologies and training solutions, particularly those specialising in firearms and ammunition training. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find this procurement especially accessible, given the CNC's willingness to engage with a single supplier for this system. Companies with expertise in providing high-fidelity simulation systems and related support services could greatly benefit from this contract, aligning with the needs of both the CNC and potential secondary buyers from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Home Office Forces.
