Notice Description

Leeds City Council is commissioning a programme of evidence based community activities and interventions to tackle child obesity. It aims to reduce health inequalities of children and families living in the most deprived areas of Leeds by targeting overweight and/or inactive children, young people and their families by delivering a Family Healthy Living Programme. The Family Healthy Living Programme will offer a programme to reduce child obesity; it shall meet client needs which develop lifestyle skills, improve healthy behaviour and uses a strengths based and solution focussed approach. The Family Healthy Living Programme will consist of two elements Healthy Living Activities which will focus on the Contractor providing a range of suitable and regular physical activity and healthy eating sessions to children, young people and their families who are overweight and/or physically inactive and live in the most deprived communities in Leeds Children and Family Weight Management will provide an evidence based tailored weight management programme which target overweight children with a Body Mass Index above the 85th centile with families living in the most deprived communities.
