Summary of the contracting process

The University of Keele is currently seeking tenders for a Framework Agreement for the Provision of Decoration and Associated Works across its property estate, covering a period from 2022 to 2026. This procurement is categorised under the works industry, specifically related to painting and decorating. The tender involves four distinct lots: planned cyclical work for student accommodation, pool rooms, reactive work for various estate buildings, and external works on university properties. The end date for tender submissions is set for 24 January 2022, with the contract expected to commence on 25 January 2022, and run until 24 January 2024, with a total budget of approximately £1,452,000. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, allowing for broad participation.

This framework presents significant growth opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the construction and maintenance sectors, particularly those specialising in decoration and associated building works. Businesses that can efficiently handle both planned and reactive tasks will be particularly well-suited for this tender, given the varied requirements across the four lots. Engaging in this competitive process could yield substantial contract value, particularly for firms well-prepared to deliver quality services while adhering to the evaluation criteria set by the University, which prioritises both technical quality and commercial pricing.
