Summary of the contracting process

Cheshire East Borough Council is currently undertaking a procurement process for residential care services for children through a selective tender method. This initiative, titled "Residential Childrens Homes," aims to improve outcomes for children and young people under the Council's care. The tender is at the planning stage, with the deadline for submissions set for 28th August 2018. The services will be needed throughout the North West region, specifically in Crewe and Macclesfield, as the Council is looking to establish five residential homes—three of which are already leased to successful suppliers, while two new homes are anticipated to be sourced and managed by the awarded contractors. The overall contract value is approximately £15,930,200, and the service period will run from 6th March 2019 to 5th March 2024.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in residential care and support services. Companies that have expertise in providing tailored care for children and young people, particularly those familiar with the Children Homes (England) Regulations 2015, are well-suited to compete for this contract. The emphasis on creating flexible and innovative care solutions indicates a demand for providers that can foster educational and developmental aspirations for the children housed in these facilities. Successful suppliers will benefit from a robust partnership structure, collaborating closely with Cheshire East Social Care and other health partner agencies, thereby enhancing their profile and credibility in the social work services sector.
