Science and Technology Facilities Council. ISIS, is the world's most productive pulsed neutron source. Intense bursts of neutrons are produced at 20msec intervals (50 Hz) when a heavy metal target is bombarded by a high-energy (800 MeV) proton beam from a synchrotron accelerator releasing neutrons by the process of spallation. The scope of this procurement is for a minimum of 1x prototype amplifier and, should the prototype be deemed satisfactory, production of up to fourteen further units over a potential 48 month period. There is no minimum number of production units guaranteed under this Contract. Please see our Invitation to Tender document (ITQ) for full information. UK Shared Business Services e-Sourcing As part of the strategic alliance between UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS) and Crown Commercial Service (CCS), UK SBS can use the CCS e-Sourcing Suite for future procurements.
