Summary of the contracting process

Nottingham Trent University has recently awarded a contract for the construction of the Proposed Enterprise and Innovation Centre, located in Nottingham, England. The project, valued at £5,930,000, falls under the construction industry category and has a contract period starting on 24th June 2019, concluding on 30th June 2020. The procurement method employed was a selective approach, specifically a competitive procedure with negotiation, and the tender period ended on 16th January 2019. The project aims to create a dynamic space facilitating collaboration among students, entrepreneurs, and businesses.

This contract presents significant opportunities for construction firms, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to engage in a prominent educational development. Companies specialising in construction works, project management, and innovative building solutions would be particularly well-suited to compete for similar projects. The focus on creating a dynamic learning environment highlights the potential for contractors who can deliver quality workmanship while effectively managing logistics and site constraints.

Notice Title

Proposed Enterprise and Innovation Centre

Notice Description

Proposed Enterprise and Innovation Centre Background Nottingham Trent University (NTU) propose to develop a new Enterprise Innovation Centre (EIC), sited within the heart of the City Campus. The EIC will provide the focus for all the University's enterprise activities and will create a dynamic learning environment where student and graduate entrepreneurs can interact and collaborate with academics, researchers, small growing businesses and larger companies. Site and Design Information The site lies to the north of the 1976 Dryden Building, on a brownfield site, which originally comprised Victorian terraced houses, prior to post-war demolition. The building is constrained by the adjacent bank of trees and the resultant root protection zones to the North and West of the site and is constrained on the East by the boundary and on the South by the Dryden Building. The new building will provide 2000m2 of gross internal floor area over four floors. The ground to second floor will align with the existing floors of the occupied Dryden building. Logistics, mitigation of disruption and programme will be critical to the delivery of the development Additional information: In order to express an interest in this or any NTU tender, Register/login to Intend, select the relevant tender from the current tenders drop down box and click on express an interest.
