Notice Title
RFI - Non-Print Legal Deposit Ejournal Articles Supply Service
Notice Description
On behalf of the Legal Deposit Libraries, the British Library invites potential vendors to provide information, as well as propose options, for the provision of serial article metadata and associated content, for inclusion under Legal Deposit. ***When submitting information, all respondents should note that this is not currently a tender opportunity, but is part of a market consultation exercise aiming to ensure that the procurement route selected and the options ultimately developed for any procurement are properly informed***
Lot Information
Lot 1
To facilitate legal deposit of electronic serial publications, the British Library outsources the transformation and supply of high quality metadata and content for a certain set of publishers. We are looking for a service to cover aggregated supply and management of normalised metadata and content from as wide a range of publishers as possible. The service requires supply of both electronic serial article content files and associated metadata supplied on a weekly basis, packaged to the BL's requirement. The supplier would be expected to carry out normalization on the metadata and transfer without alteration the content that is to be delivered to the British Library, to ensure the content can be ingested in to the current BL ingest process with very minimal manual handling or load errors. Additional information: **When submitting information, all respondents should note that this is not currently a tender opportunity, but is part of a market consultation exercise aiming to ensure that the procurement route selected and the options ultimately developed for any procurement are properly informed***
