Summary of the contracting process

The Northern Health & Social Care Trust is currently conducting a tender for the "NO 3334811 Major Works Integrated Consultant Team (ICT) Framework" within the architectural, construction, engineering, and inspection services sector. This procurement is in the Tender stage, with submissions due by 3 March 2021. The framework contract has a total value of £18,000,000 and is centred on the provision of construction-related professional services for significant new and refurbishment projects, including the establishment of a new 134-bed Acute Mental Health In-Patient Hospital located at Antrim Area Hospital. The framework is designed for a total duration of four years, allowing for reviews and potential termination at the end of each year, with full pre-qualification checks to be performed for six shortlisted candidates before final tender submissions are invited.

This opportunity presents a significant avenue for growth, particularly for firms specialising in architectural design, civil engineering, structural engineering, and building consultancy services. Companies with experience in managing large-scale construction projects and a track record in delivering professional services as part of an Integrated Consultant Team will be well-placed to compete effectively. Business growth potential is underscored by the framework’s provisions for multiple commissions, although it is important for candidates to enter with an understanding that there is no guaranteed contract or compensation for preliminary costs incurred during the process.
