Summary of the contracting process

The Education Authority (EA) in Northern Ireland is conducting a procurement process for the supply of fresh muffins, cookies, and associated bakery items. This tender, titled "CAT-20-009 Fresh Muffins, Cookies and Associated Items," is classified under the bakery products category (CPV code 15612500). The procurement is currently at the tender stage, with the deadline for submissions set for 5 July 2021, aiming to deliver products to various educational and youth facilities across Northern Ireland from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, allowing for a wide range of suppliers to participate.

This opportunity presents significant growth potential for businesses specialising in bakery products, particularly those with experience in supplying to educational institutions and community centres. Companies that can provide high-quality items at competitive prices are well-positioned to bid for this contract, as evaluation criteria focus equally on product characteristics and costs. Given the specific delivery requirements and the potential for additional usage by other local bodies, suppliers who can demonstrate flexibility and reliability in their responses may find this tender particularly advantageous for expanding their market presence within the public sector.
