Semi-independent Living accommodation for Care Leavers
Notice Description
We are looking for a provider/s to deliver an accommodation support service to our Care Leavers aged 16 - 21 years old. The provider will have experience in working with care leavers and an understanding of the needs that care leavers may present. The provider will have a proven track record of working with care leavers and supporting them to achieve a positive outcome in their transition into independent living. The accommodation consists of 4 ensuite bedrooms and 3 bedsits (total 7 placements). There is also provision on site to provide emergency short term accommodation to our care leavers. Providers will be expected to work with Care Leavers that present a range of needs. It is anticipated that the contract will be for a 2-year period with the option to extend for a further 12 months subject to good performance. Within the scope of this service it is expected that the provider will: * Ensure that staff employed to deliver the service are appropriately trained, skilled and experienced and are committed to delivering a high quality, person centred service. * The provider will always deploy a sufficient number of staff to enable this service to operate at capacity and ensure that appropriate management support is available to staff and volunteers. * The Support Worker/s/Manager will be onsite and available to work with young people 24/7 * Have the capacity for staff to sleepover if WBC considers this necessary * Offer a proactive and supportive environment, which includes: support planning, risk management and key working at a minimum. * Support young people using the service in relation to, for example, planning and moving to alternative accommodation, future independent living, and employment and engaging in community life, and reporting and getting help with safeguarding concerns. This is not an indicative list and further details will be included within the service specification. The service will not be expected to provide personal, clinical, or health care therapy or professional counselling services to service users.
Lot Information
Lot 1
In Wokingham our vision is that young people will leave care as resilient, self-sufficient, aspirational individuals, equipped with the skills to achieve long term successful independence. Currently there is difficulty finding suitable placements for our care leavers who require semi-independent accommodation. It is a struggle to find provision within the borough, that meets quality standards and that represents value for money. In order to breach this deficit, we are developing a new semi-independent living housing scheme within the borough of Wokingham which is due to open in the Summer of 2021. We are therefore seeking a provider to deliver 24/7 support at the service. There will be a Market Discovery workshop online on Wednesday 24th February from 10am - 11am. Organisations wishing to participate in this event should contact us no later than Monday 22nd February 2021
