Summary of the contracting process

Durham University is currently conducting a tender for the procurement of a 1.2 kW XAFS spectrometer, which is aimed at facilitating X-ray absorption spectroscopy with a focus on catalysis and energy materials. The procurement process is now in the active tender stage, having started on 5th May 2021, and is set to conclude submissions by 22nd March 2021. The total budget allocated for this project is £300,000, and the delivery location is specified as Durham City, within the UKC1 region. This procurement follows an open method and is intended for goods, as designated under the CPV classification for spectrometers.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the scientific and educational sectors, particularly those specialised in laboratory equipment and analytical instruments. Companies that manufacture or supply X-ray spectroscopy devices or related technologies would be well-positioned to compete in this process. Additionally, stakeholders involved in energy materials and catalysis research applications may find this tender pertinent, as the winning bidder will cater to both academic and industrial users within these fields.
