Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Wandsworth has completed a procurement process for the "Testing of Electrical Installations and Remedial Works Boroughwide", which falls under the works category, specifically focusing on electrical wiring and fitting. The procurement was conducted through a restricted procedure that involved a selective method, and the contract had a value of £21 million. This project aimed to ensure compliance with British standards for the electrical installations within the council's housing stock, particularly across Wandsworth, with the contract signed on 12 March 2021.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to expand their business in the electrical services sector. Businesses that specialise in inspection, testing, and remedial electrical works, as well as those proficient in documentation such as Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), would be particularly well-suited to compete. The successful contractor will also manage the ongoing testing schedule and liaise with third-party service providers, enhancing the potential for collaborative projects within the industry.
