Summary of the contracting process

The recent procurement process conducted by Leidos Supply focuses on the "Supply of Portable Glucometer and Cholesterol Monitors," targeted at maintaining clinical effectiveness and patient safety within Defence Primary Health Care. This project falls within the medical equipment industry, specifically under diagnostic devices (CPV Code: 33124100). Key details include an estimated contract value of £2.2 million, with contracts expected to commence in 2022 and spanning a duration of up to four years. The procurement method used was an open procedure, and the tender has recently been awarded to BHR Pharmaceuticals Ltd for an active status contract.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth, particularly for companies supplying medical devices and related healthcare equipment. Businesses that specialise in diagnostic devices, servicing, and providing spare parts or consumables would be particularly well-suited to compete for future sub-contracting opportunities. Given the involvement of Leidos Supply and the long duration of the contracts, companies are encouraged to establish partnerships or engage with the tendering firm to align their offerings with the ongoing needs of Defence Primary Health Care.
