Summary of the contracting process

The East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub, operating through the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, is initiating a procurement process for the "Virtual Ward and Clinical Outpatient Services" Framework Agreement. This procurement is currently at the planning stage, with a focus on health and social work services across the United Kingdom, including Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. The procurement method involves a pre-tender strategy, incorporating a Request for Information (RFI) to engage suppliers. Interested suppliers must express their interest by 16 April 2021, aiming to provide responsive support for patients outside of acute hospital settings.

This opportunity presents significant growth potential for businesses that specialise in health and social care services, particularly those experienced in providing clinical support, outpatient therapies, or mobile treatment solutions. Firms engaged in offering home healthcare interventions, pharmacy services, and comprehensive patient care strategies would be particularly well-suited to compete. By participating in this tender, businesses can not only contribute to improving patient care but also expand their market reach within a robust network of publicly funded organisations across the UK.

Virtual Ward and Clinical Outpatient Services

Notice Description

The overall aim of the Virtual Ward and Clinical Outpatients Services Framework Agreement is to provide responsive and time limited support to individuals who are medically fit to receive treatment outside of an Acute hospital by providing defined clinical services and/or advice/information/signposting to inform a care pathway which enables patients to safely resettle at home and promote independent and choice. The service provider will facilitate appropriate interventions and provide pharmacy treatments at home or at outpatient clinics close to home. This will promote independence and reduce the likelihood of hospital readmission or long term care.
