Summary of the contracting process

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking suppliers for the provision of Supported Living Services, reflecting their ongoing commitment to social work and community support within the health and social services sector. This procurement falls under the social work services category and is located in Bridgend, UK (postcode CF31 4WB). The current stage of the procurement process is in the Award phase, with a significant contract value of £31,500,000 signed on 1st April 2016, set to be modified and extended for 12 months due to unforeseen delays related to the Covid-19 pandemic, with terms now valid until 31st March 2022.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in social care, particularly those providing supported living services. Companies that demonstrate experience in managing community-based support and social work services will find this opportunity particularly relevant. The expected growth potential is substantial given the ongoing demand for such services in the Bridgend area, making it an attractive prospect for established players as well as new entrants in the social care sector.

Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances: The outbreak and subsequent impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has meant that there has been a delay in implementing the procurement of Supported Living local area service call-off tenders via a Framework Agreement. Bridgend County Borough Council has therefore made the decision to modify the existing contracts with Cartrefi (Lot 1), Mirus (Lot 2) and DRIVE Ltd (Lot 3) by extending the existing terms for a further 12 months to 31st March 2022.
