Babcock Land Defence Limited, acting as agent to the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to negotiate a single source contract with Davall Gears for the Repair and Overhaul of CR2 Transmission Mechanical - Hand Traverse Gearbox with a duration of 3 years with 2 x 1 options should this be required and subject to satisfactory supplier performance. The Authority reserves the right to add items of repair of a similar nature to the contract during its lifetime.

Options: 2 x 1 year options subject to Satisfactory performance and on going requirement

Procurement Information

It is considered that this Contract can be placed using the Negotiated procedure without prior publication pursuant to Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the UK Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations 2011 for technical reasons. Davall Gears Limited is the OEM for this item and holds the exclusive rights to the design drawings, technical specifications and technical expertise ("technical knowhow") for the Hand Traverse Gearbox. Davall Gears is the OEM for this item and no other party has access to the information necessary to repair the item required by the UK Ministry of Defence. This notice is not a request for expressions of interest so please do not apply to be invited to tender.
