Summary of the contracting process

The Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is initiating a tender for the provision of Renal Dialysis Services, which includes both in-centre and home haemodialysis. This procurement is classified under health services and covers several locations in Greater Manchester, specifically Salford, Wigan, Bolton, Oldham, and Rochdale, with plans to establish a new site in Heywood by the end of 2022. The current procurement stage is planning, with key deadlines including the deadline for submitting expressions of interest by 8th April 2021 and an anticipated contract award date in November 2021. The Trust aims to improve and standardise regional service delivery for approximately 450 dialysis patients, responding to the health needs of a population of around 1.5 million.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses in the healthcare and medical services sectors, particularly those specialising in renal support devices and consumables. Companies offering innovative renal care solutions or those experienced in managing dialysis services would be well-positioned to compete in this process. As the Trust seeks to enhance their service delivery and patient care, businesses with a commitment to improving health outcomes are encouraged to engage with this opportunity, allowing them to potentially forge long-term relationships with a major healthcare provider in the region.
