Summary of the contracting process

Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd is conducting a pre-procurement market engagement process titled "New Entrant Apprenticeship Level 3," focused on education and training services within the UK. This initiative is currently in the planning stage and aims to enhance the delivery of its apprenticeship programmes, specifically for Level 3 Rail Engineering apprenticeships. Interested organisations are invited to express their interest by completing a survey by 23 April 2021, though this notice will remain open for 30 days. The total anticipated value for this procurement is estimated at £35 million.

This procurement opportunity presents significant prospects for businesses involved in educational services, particularly those specialising in technical skills training relevant to the railway sector. Companies with expertise in delivering apprenticeship programmes aligned with Rail Technician competency requirements and a history of vocational education within a relevant context would be particularly well-positioned to compete. With Network Rail's move towards a regional delivery model for these programmes, there exists an open avenue for providers across the UK to participate and contribute to this critical training initiative.
