Summary of the contracting process

The Centre for Process Innovation Limited (CPI) has completed a tender process titled "1756 - Framework for the Ongoing Supply of Lipids", which falls under the pharmaceutical products category. This procurement was initiated to establish a preferred supplier list for both GMP and non-GMP projects in response to the urgent need associated with the Covid-19 Vaccine manufacture programme. The procurement process was opened under an accelerated procedure due to the urgency dictated by the ongoing public health crisis. The two lots included in this tender provide opportunities for suppliers to offer a wide range of lipids as required for ongoing projects. Key dates include the signing of contracts on 2 March 2021, with a total budget of £1,000,000 for each lot, strategically funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses focused on pharmaceutical products, particularly suppliers of lipids. Companies capable of delivering both GMP and non-GMP compliant materials could find it advantageous to engage in this procurement process. Both large firms and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) would be well-suited to compete, particularly those with established capabilities in supply chain management and product specification. As CPI intends for the awarded contracts to serve a range of projects across various departments, prospective bidders should leverage their quality of service and pricing benefits to position themselves favourably in this procurement environment.
