Summary of the contracting process

The Tees Alternative Education Framework, initiated by Middlesbrough Council, is an active procurement process aimed at providing alternative education services for young people up to the age of 16 and post-16 as required. This public procurement falls under the education and training services category. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, indicating broad participation opportunities. Key dates include a submission deadline of May 11, 2021, and contracts projected to last over a period of 720 days with provisions for extensions across various lots.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in educational services, particularly those specialising in alternative education, therapeutic support, and curricular enrichment. Companies that effectively address the diverse needs of excluded or at-risk students, such as those providing tailored educational programmes, mentoring, or psychological support, would be well-positioned to compete successfully in this procurement. The involvement of multiple councils, including Darlington Borough and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Councils, further broadens the potential market for service providers.
