Summary of the contracting process

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is planning to initiate the tender for the "Leeds City Region Business Start-Up Support Programme," valued at £1 million. This programme aims to deliver support to new business start-ups across the Leeds City Region, which includes the districts of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield. A supplier engagement session is scheduled for 12th May 2021 to provide further information and answer any questions from potential participants. Companies interested in participating are encouraged to contact Darren Wood at darren.wood@westyorks-ca.gov.uk and are required to register on the e-tendering system In-Tend prior to the release of detailed tender documentation, anticipated to go live shortly after the session.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for businesses focused on enterprise support and consultancy services, particularly those that can cater to the diverse needs of new start-ups, including underserved communities. The tender benefits organisations equipped to provide both general and tailored guidance to budding entrepreneurs, especially those without high growth ambitions. Participation in this programme could enhance a company's market presence and client base, addressing the growing demand for business support that has seen a 40% increase since the pandemic.
