Summary of the contracting process

Durham County Council (DCC) is initiating a planned procurement process for the renewal of the NEPO417 Janitorial and Facilities Supplies Framework Solution in the cleaning products industry, aimed at providing essential supplies to various public sector organisations. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with key dates including a deadline for suppliers to register for one-on-one meetings by 7th May 2021 and the submission deadline for a Soft Market Consultation Questionnaire due on 4th May 2021. The upcoming Invitation to Tender (ITT) documentation is expected to be issued around mid-August 2021, and the Framework Agreement is anticipated to be awarded for a maximum duration of six years.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the cleaning and hygiene sector, particularly those supplying cleaning chemicals, janitorial supplies, and environmentally friendly alternatives. Suppliers who can demonstrate capabilities in these areas would be well-positioned to compete, especially those offering innovative and sustainable products. Engaging in the supplier meetings could also provide valuable insights that may help shape future proposals, making it a strategic opportunity for growth in the public procurement market.
