Directly awarded Fflecsi bus services in Blaenau Gwent
Notice Description
Bus service contract to implement a demand responsive bus transport scheme ("Fflecsi Services") in Blaenau Gwent, Wales where conventional local bus services have been reduced and traditional demand patterns have been disrupted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The intention is to launch a Fflecsi Services pilot scheme to better determine the role of Fflecsi and its ability to operate efficiently in densely populated environments where an increased number of users are expected to make use of the services. The Fflecsi Services will also aim to better connect the Ebbw Fach and Ebbw Vale areas with existing bus and train routes so as to facilitate direct access to larger employment areas for patrons who do not live within close proximity to existing fixed service transport. A direct award of a bus service contract is now envisaged to facilitate the successful integration of the Fflecsi Services pilot in Blaenau Gwent.
