Notice Information
Notice Title
(NU/1682) High Voltage Infrastructure - Network Mapping Services
Notice Description
The University wishes to appoint a contractor to carry out enhanced testing services of the Campus High Voltage Infrastructure network. The Current HV system is in excess of 50 years old and is currently undergoing major refurbishment and upgrade to allow for a more robust system for the next 30 plus years and enable the University with more resilient business continuity. Following a desk based cable assessment study based on OFGEM health indices, the University has generated a base health level index of the University's 46 x 11kv circuits on age, loading, and fault history. This desk based exercise was carried out without any physical diagnostic data and the health indices that have been derived for our circuits may be either overly optimistic or pessimistic based on this calculation. Diagnostic testing is required to either confirm or amend the current health index on a circuit by circuit basis. The enhanced testing will revise the health index and depending upon diagnostic testing results allow the formulation of an action plan. The plan will range from immediate too long term action depending upon diagnostic results and health index. In accordance with HSG 230
