Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process titled "Provision of Patent Attorney Service on behalf of Loughborough University and University of Birmingham" is currently underway, initiated by the University of Birmingham, which acts as the lead university. This exercise falls under the category of services, specifically focusing on patent and copyright consultancy services. The tender is being conducted via a selective procurement method, specifically a restricted procedure, with submissions due by 12th July 2021. The contract period is set to begin on 3rd November 2021 and will last for an initial term of four years, with the possibility of extending for up to three additional one-year periods, subject to performance reviews.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses that specialise in patent attorney services, particularly those with experience in drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications. Companies that already have established expertise in handling patent matters would be well-suited to compete. Additionally, businesses should be prepared to engage collaboratively as both universities will be responsible for managing their respective contracts. Those interested should ensure their submissions meet the criteria set forth in the tender documents and prepare for an evaluation based on quality and pricing factors.
