Summary of the contracting process

The North Tyneside Council is currently overseeing the "Made In NorthTyneside" tender, which is focused on business services within the law, marketing, consulting, recruitment, printing, and security sectors. This procurement process is at the planning stage, having been initiated on 14th June 2021, and aims to use a total funding of £1.495 million, partly due to an increase in funding related to COVID-19. This programme is an extension of the original Business Factory branding and is vital in supporting potential business start-ups in North Tyneside, with delivery arrangements set to run until December 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in consultancy and support services, particularly those that assist emerging enterprises and entrepreneurs. Companies with expertise in business development, marketing strategies, and specialist consultancy are well placed to compete for this project, which seeks to enhance local entrepreneurship and self-employment within the region. As a collaborative effort funded by the European Regional Development Fund and North Tyneside Council, businesses that position themselves as capable partners in driving innovation and providing comprehensive support to start-ups will find this a prime opportunity for growth.

Notice Title

Made In NorthTyneside

Notice Description

The Made In North Tyneside (MINT) programme, which is delivered under the Business Factory branding, is managed and part funded by the Council. The core Enterprise Team project is about creating opportunities for potential business start-ups supporting them to develop their ideas into viable opportunities. The new delivery arrangements will combine the Enterprise Team, New Product Development and the Specialist Consultancy into one main project. North Tyneside Council secured a total of PS4.052 million jointly funded by European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) and North Tyneside Council to deliver the start-up programme from March 2009 to March2019. The objectives were to increase the number of local residents exploring enterprise and self employment as a viable career option and increase the number of people starting up in business. A further PS1.65 million has been secured to extend from 1st April 2019 to December 2021. Once again this is joint funding between ERDF and North Tyneside Council
