Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is initiating a public procurement process titled "ESR Discovery Findings Update and Alpha Considerations" within the information technology services industry. Currently in the planning stage, this process aims to engage suppliers through a market engagement event scheduled on 20 July 2021 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon (BST). This event will focus on the provision of NHS Electronic Staff Record (ESR) services, following a Discovery exercise that has concluded while assessing user needs and technical solutions. Interested businesses are required to register on the NHSBSA's Atamis system to participate and submit their RFI responses by 27 July 2021.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those experienced in HR, payroll, and workforce management solutions. With the current ESR managed service contract running until August 2025, organisations providing integrated HR, payroll, and learning management platforms could greatly benefit from this engagement. The NHSBSA is seeking feedback on development approaches and considering further discussions, presenting a prime chance for companies aiming to contribute to the evolution of workforce solutions within the NHS.
