Lot Information

Lot 1

The Reality Emulator is a unique combined physical and virtual environment providing the capability to study complex sociotechnical systems at different scales, in different contexts, and at different stages. A key requirement of the RE is the use of diverse real-world data sets generated in real-time, over time and at scale, that can be emulated, integrated and synthetically scaled to provide conditions for prospective research on digital innovation and intervention. The Reality Emulator is composed of four equipment sub systems, integrated through an integration, management and monitoring layer: * Immersive Sub System: provides interactive multi-user virtual and augmented reality experiences. * Data Sub System: ingests and outputs media and data feeds, performs batch and real-time data processing, supplies, and stores archived data. * Compute Sub System: executes models of real-world phenomena on a mixture of CPU, GPU and programmable hardware. * Network Sub System: a programmable substrate for communications within the RE on the University of Bristol sites and to and from remote hubs and mobile devices. There will also be a Management and Monitoring and Integration Sub System & integration partner: the unified integration of all Sub Systems that constitute the Reality Emulator enabling a single 'pane of glass' for monitoring and managing the RE as a whole Service.
