Summary of the contracting process

The National Oceanography Centre is currently conducting a tender for the project titled "NOC AD & O365 Migration". This procurement falls under the services industry category, specifically focusing on software implementation services with a budget of £160,000. The tender is active and will undergo an open procedure. Key dates include the submission deadline on 27th August 2021, with the contract expected to last for 180 days, and potential support for up to three years post-implementation. The delivery location is in Southampton, UK.

This tender represents an excellent opportunity for IT service providers, particularly those specialising in software consultancy and application services, to expand their business with public sector contracts. Given the nature of this project, businesses that have expertise in Active Directory migration and O365 solutions would be particularly well-suited to compete. Engaging with the National Oceanography Centre could broaden a business’s portfolio, providing a pathway to secure future contracts within the independent public sector infrastructure.

Notice Title

NOC AD & O365 Migration

Notice Description

During 2019 NOC transitioned from being a Public sector organisation to an Independent company limited by guarantee. As part of this transition, NOC has a requirement to separate, split or otherwise remediate elements of its IT Infrastructure and is seeking a delivery partner to delivery two key elements of this requirement. Firstly, NOC's on-going AD migration project, originally contracted for in 2019 with delivery commencing in Q2 2020. Progress on the project has since stalled prior to the migration phase and following this extended period of downtime NOC is now looking for alternative providers to complete the remaining scope of work as detailed in our requirements below. In addition to this, NOC requires migration away from the National Environmental Research Councils O365 cloud tenancy to an independent, NOC managed equivalent.
