Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the LLW Repository Ltd, which has awarded a contract titled "MX 044 290421 DS DC - Dungeness Demolition Tech Study 2" as part of services under the business services sector. This project, located in Calderbridge, UK, relates to the decommissioning works at Dungeness 'A' nuclear power station. The contract is active as of August 3, 2021, following a restricted procedure procurement method. The scope includes the removal of eight boilers and conducting a concept design study for their processing and disposal.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the construction, engineering, and environmental consultancy sectors, particularly those with experience in nuclear decommissioning projects. Companies specialising in demolition, waste management, and recycling services would be well-suited to compete for similar contracts, given the complexity and regulatory requirements associated with decommissioning operations in the energy sector.
