The Department for Transport intends to let a contract for the ongoing provision of Secretariat for the UK Roads Leadership Group (UKRLG) and the World Road Association's UK National Committee (PIARC UK). PIARC UK is part of the World Road Association (PIARC) based in Paris. Under the new contract, the Secretariat will: Promote UKRLG and PIARC's work across the UK road sector. Share achievements, insights and lessons learned from the UK road sector internationally. Provide administrative support to UKRLG, PIARC UK and coordinate input with PIARC General Secretariat.

PIARC (Permanent International Association of Road Congresses also known as the World Road Association) was first held in Paris in 1908. It brings together the road administrations of 121 governments and has members - individuals, companies, authorities, and organisations - in over 140 countries. The aim of PIARC is to identify, develop, and promulgate policy and practices that contribute to safer and more efficient management and use of roads and road transport systems. It is the leading international forum for analysis and discussion of roads matters. PIARC's work is mostly undertaken through a series of Technical Committees and Task Forces over a four-year work cycle where the UK is one of the leading participants - bringing expertise from across private and public sectors. The UK is an active and leading member of PIARC.

Options: Option to extend for up to a further 24 months at 12 month intervals, for a total contract term of 36 months including optional extensions.

Renewal: Customers may enter into a contract with a supplier for a period of their determining which may exceed the RM6124 Communications Marketplace DPS Agreement, should this agreement be terminated at any time. The flexibility of the contracting period allows customers (Buyers) to determine appropriate contracting timelines required to enable the supplier to meet customer needs.
