Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process initiated by Scottish Water is focused on the provision of temporary chemical dosing plants and associated services across Scotland. Titled "Temporary Chemical Dosing", this tender falls within the goods industry category and is anchored in a selective procurement method that employs a negotiated procedure following a prior call for competition. The tender timeline includes a submission deadline on 1st October 2021. Scottish Water, located at 6 Buchanan Gate, Glasgow, requires suppliers capable of servicing over 100 sites and responding to ad-hoc demands.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in chemical dosing solutions, equipment delivery, maintenance, and technical consulting. Companies, particularly large suppliers and SMEs that possess the infrastructure and expertise to manage temporary and seasonal chemical dosing across multiple sites, would be well-positioned to compete. The contract, valued at £24 million, also offers potential for growth through its six-year initial term, with options for further extensions, appealing to firms looking to establish long-term partnerships with a key player in the water sector.
