These are families who worked for the UK Government in Afghanistan, including many who worked as interpreters for UK forces in the country, and who are eligible for expedited relocation to the UK under the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP), part of the ALES. It is expected that around 18-22 families may require resettlement within Hampshire, depending on availability of housing and support.",
                    "rationale": "Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee: The department are seeking the modification under Regulation 72(1)(c) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015, to add in additional families from the Afghan Resettlement Scheme/Policy to Hampshire's existing Refugee Resettlement contract. Regulation 72(1)(c) sets out that modifications can be made where all of the following conditions are fulfilled: (i) the need for modification has been brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority could not have foreseen; (ii) the modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract; (iii) any increase in price does not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract or framework agreement."
