North Ayrshire Wellbeing and Recovery College
Notice Description
Following the successful development of a Public Social Partnership (PSP) and pilot project, NAC on behalf of North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (NAHSCP) intends to commission a Wellbeing and Recovery College within the Partnership's integrated community support mental health service. The service is intended to compliment a number of other local projects ensuring a comprehensive network of support for people with mental health problems. The Well Being and Recovery College will be delivered collaboratively with the successful provider and NAHSCP working together to deliver the service. In order to support this the North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Service will provide a minimum of 15 hours staff time to the Well Being and Recovery College to support the college's development and the running of courses. It is intended that this early intervention and prevention approach will diminish the potential for the development of long-term mental health conditions and support individuals in their recovery. The Wellbeing and Recovery College will provide an alternative to traditional approaches to mental health. The service is founded on four principles: Co-production; Education; Inclusion; and Recovery Focussed. Peer support is an essential component of the service.
