Summary of the contracting process

This initiative, launched in response to a Scottish Government directive, focuses on contracting complex pelvic mesh removal surgeries outside the National Health Service. The procurement falls under the health services industry category, with the process currently in the Award stage. The Framework Agreement for this contract has an active status as of July 6, 2021, with a financial value of £600,000. This tender presents significant opportunities for healthcare-related businesses, particularly those specialising in surgical procedures related to pelvic mesh removal. Companies with robust clinical governance structures, demonstrable experience, and strong planning and communication skills would be particularly well-suited to bid for this contract. Given that this service is intended to address specific complications experienced by women, suppliers from both within and outside the UK healthcare sector, particularly those experienced in innovative surgical treatments, may find this a lucrative avenue for growth.
