Low Carbon Development Initiative (LCDI) Phase 2
Notice Description
This is a prior information notice (PIN) only: Publication and a call for competition will be conducted once the scope of work is fully defined and approved. The FCDO is seeking a supplier to support the implementation of a new programme on the FCDO's objective of working alongside international partners to address the global challenge of climate change. The supplier will support the work of FCDO in Indonesia to promote a low carbon and high inclusive growth development pathway for Indonesia The main strategic objective from the programme is to support the Government of Indonesia (GoI) to (i) implement the LCDI at national and provincial level during the current RPJMN period (ii) support longer term planning to incorporate the LCDI into Indonesia's vision 2045 (iii) raising ambition to realise the 'high' and 'plus' LCDI scenarios, including through modelling net zero, support for long term policy innovation and through mobilising political support The contractor will implement the LCDI Phase 2 under the following workstreams during the programme: 1) partnership with national government to institutionalize LCDI and develop low carbon policy proposals across key technical ministries; 2) partnership with key provincial governments to enhance the capacity of local government for low carbon development planning and to bring it into policy practices at local level; 3) political engagement with wide range of stakeholders including high level officials from across ministries/sectors, legislative bodies at national or local level, academia and other non-state actors; 4) innovation and technology fund, to support ideas, policies into practices in variety of sectors (e.g. land use, industrial sectors, waste sector).
