Summary of the contracting process

High Speed Two (HS2) Limited has completed the award stage for the Framework Agreement concerning Low Voltage Power Components for Phase One Stations, encompassing key locations such as Euston, Old Oak Common, Birmingham Curzon Street, and Interchange. This procurement falls under the category of electrical machinery, apparatus, equipment, and consumables, with an estimated contract value of £22.19 million. The agreement includes provisions for Air Circuit Breakers, Moulded Case Circuit Breakers, Digital Electricity Meters, Busbar Trunking, Battery Tripping Units and Automatic Transfer Switches. The framework, intended for an initial eight-year duration with the potential to extend to ten years, was completed with ABB Limited as the selected supplier.

This framework offers substantial growth opportunities for companies specialising in low voltage electrical components and systems. Participation by mid-size to large enterprises capable of delivering high-quality, scalable electrical solutions could be particularly well-suited. The structured framework allows for additional call-offs and flexibility in scope, providing a platform for businesses to secure long-term projects and expand their portfolios within the UK's railway infrastructure sector. Due to the scale and thoroughness of the opportunities presented, involvement in HS2’s sizeable infrastructure plans could significantly enhance a business's standing and market reach.
