Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Justice is currently initiating a tender titled "ITT_5821 - The Provision of Temporary Probation Workers". This procurement, classified under the industry category of supply services of personnel including temporary staff (CPV code: 79620000), is set to take place across various regions in the UK, including the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber, Greater Manchester, North West, East Midlands, West Midlands, South West, South Central, Wales, East of England, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and London. The tender period is active with submissions closing on 31 January 2022. The overall procurement method is an open procedure, allowing a wider range of suppliers to participate.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialised in supplying temporary personnel, particularly those with expertise in probation services. Companies able to provide qualified probation officers, senior probation officers, and probation service officers, alongside efficient administrative processes for managing agency worker assignments, would be well-suited to compete. The requirement for qualified professionals to cover absences and contribute to pre-sentence report writing further creates a niche for businesses familiar with the probation sector. Participants are limited to a maximum of two suppliers per regional lot, fostering a competitive environment for applicants meeting the high standards expected by the Probation Service.
