Summary of the contracting process

The Jisc organisation is planning to initiate a framework for "Testing as a Service" targeted at suppliers within the software testing industry in the UK. This tender is currently at the planning stage and aims to gather interest to inform the procurement procedure, which is yet to be determined. The framework is expected to last for an initial period of two years, with an option for a two-year extension. Interested suppliers should submit their software testing service offerings, accompanied by a brief description, to the contact person, Chris Hallahan, at Jisc before the upcoming notice date of 14 January 2022.

This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in software testing services, particularly those with expertise in quality engineering within the higher education and research sectors. Companies that can demonstrate innovative testing methodologies and a comprehensive understanding of software delivery best practices will have a competitive edge. By engaging with Jisc's framework, businesses can gain access to a broader client base and establish strategic partnerships within the educational sector.

The specific procurement procedure Jisc will use is TBC, and will be informed by interest received from this PIN. Framework specifics are also TBC, though a 2yr initial period, with an extension of 2 further years could be expected.
