Summary of the contracting process

Network Homes is undertaking a public procurement process titled "External Cladding and Remediation Works Framework" as part of their efforts to establish a framework agreement for external cladding and fire remediation works. This procurement falls within the "works" industry category, with the main activities centred around external wall systems and potential internal fire compartmentation. The framework will mainly cater to projects located in London and surrounding areas. The procurement method used is an open procedure, and it involves a detailed tender process aimed at contracting various aspects of essential building work. Key operational dates include the anticipated start of the framework in April 2022, with a duration of four years, allowing ample time for the selection of contractors and execution of necessary works.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in construction, particularly in cladding and fire safety. Both large contractors and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) equipped in the areas of external wall systems, insulation, and general building works are encouraged to compete. The scope of work encompasses a variety of specialist and main contractor roles, allowing diverse companies to participate based on their services offered. Given the scale of the project value, estimated at around £50 million, businesses that excel in coordination, resident liaison, and project management will be particularly well-suited to respond to this tender and contribute to the anticipated works across multiple sites.
