Summary of the contracting process

Scotland Excel is overseeing a procurement process to establish a National Flexible Framework Agreement for Social Care Agency Workers, which is currently in the active tender stage. The procurement is classified under social work and related services and has an estimated value of £80,000,000. Interested parties must submit their tenders by 30 June 2022. This opportunity aims to provide services across various social care settings throughout Scotland, allowing new entrants to apply for inclusion in the framework after its establishment.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in social care workforce provision, particularly those with capabilities in supplying trained and vetted agency workers for roles such as care assistants, social workers, and ancillary staff. Companies with expertise in social services, vocational rehabilitation, or community health are well-suited to compete, especially those prepared to meet the financial stability and insurance requirements outlined by Scotland Excel. Engaging in this flexible framework could lead to long-term contracts and community benefit commitments for successful bidders.
