NI Water is the largest user of electricity in Northern Ireland and currently consumes approximately 290 GWh of electricity per annum. NI Water has the target to reach approximately 5-10 percent of volume of energy procured from renewable sources through on-site/ near site projects behind the meter. As a result NI Water is looking run a competitive tender process to enter into behind the meter PPAs across 15 NI Water Water Treatment Works (WTW), Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) and Pumping Station (PS) sites
