Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Navy, part of the UK Ministry of Defence, has completed a procurement process to award a five-year contract for the supply of Tenax-TA Sorbent Tubes to Markes International. The procurement was conducted under a limited method with negotiated procedures due to technical requirements unique to these tubes. The procurement falls under the category of goods, specifically test tubes, classified under CPV code 33192500. The contract, valued at £180,968, was signed on 8 November 2021, and all deliveries are to be fulfilled in the UK.

This contract represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in scientific and laboratory equipment, particularly those with capabilities to produce specialized test tubes. Suppliers that can provide products compliant with the stringent technical requirements of the Ministry of Defence would be well-suited to participate in similar tenders. Engaging with such contracts not only promotes business expansion but also builds a strategic relationship with high-profile government entities, potentially leading to future collaborations.

Notice Description

The Royal Navy, part of the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to award a 5 year contract to Markes International for the provision of Tenax-TA Sorbent Tubes.
