Notice Description

HEE is seeking to secure quality and value assured provision of web-based resources to support GP Specialty Training. GP Trainees have access to funding for the costs of courses and other study leave resources to augment the teaching they receive in practice and on structured teaching programmes. During the pandemic trainee access to web-based resources has increased substantially. HEE funds the cost of these resources through the study leave budget with the cost of registration being reimbursed to the trainee. Currently there are a range of providers and a variety of websites with no common standard or quality assurance.

HEE is seeking to secure quality and value assured provision of web-based resources to support GP Specialty Training. GP Trainees have access to funding for the costs of courses and other study leave resources to augment the teaching they receive in practice and on structured teaching programmes. During the pandemic trainee access to web-based resources has increased substantially. HEE funds the cost of these resources through the study leave budget with the cost of registration being reimbursed to the trainee. Currently there are a range of providers and a variety of websites with no common standard or quality assurance. HEE intends to appoint a number of qualified providers for trainees to access the required support in order to ensure that the resources being used by trainees are of high quality and represent value for money for the study leave budget. Trainees will be able to choose between preferred providers and will register and pay the fee up front and then reclaim the cost via the study leave funding arrangements. The procurement will be separated into three lots based around the focus of support provided:Lot 1. Provision of exam support resources for trainees preparing for the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT)Lot 2. Provision of exam support materials for trainees preparing for the Remote Consultation Assessment, or any subsequent equivalent exam run by the RCGP. Lot 3. Provision of general knowledge resources for GP Trainees including guidelines, summaries of clinical evidence and searchable databases.The rationale for the procurement is: * To provide quality assurance for the resources used by GP trainees * To ensure value for money for the study leave budget * To foster a culture of fairness of provision for both trainees and providers.
