Notice Description

Construction and Procurement Delivery (CPD) is facilitating this Pre-Market Engagement Exercise on behalf of DFE, who aim to establish the level of market interest to inform the procurement process. The objectives of such exercises are to: - gain initial supplier awareness, engagement and opinion, resulting in a confidence around viability of concept; * prevent the department from advertising an unachievable project at UK e-notification service www.find-tender.service.gov.uk stage; - gain insight to the market possibilities and potential innovative solutions; - understand possible risks and issues not previously considered; - inform the Outline Business Case and affordability; and - Inform the Procurement Strategy. The Department for the Economy (DfE) is preparing to initiate a procurement process to establish a contract with a Supplier to carry out an update to a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) that was completed by AECOM and Metoc in 2012 to address the potential effects that the development of offshore wind and marine renewables (tidal and wave) could have on the NI coastal and marine environment and other marine users and make recommendations for informing the development of the Offshore Renewable Energy Strategic Action Plan (ORESAP) for the period 2012-2020 . The updated SEA will be used to inform the development of a new Offshore Energy Action Plan under the auspices of the emerging Northern Ireland Energy Strategy.
