Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the "Home Based or Community Short Breaks Framework" is managed by Derby City Council and aims to provide essential services supporting disabled children and young people aged 0-18. The project is part of the health and social work services industry, with a total value of £1,000,000 over an initial period of two years, potentially extending for an additional two years. The open procedure for tendering commenced on December 7, 2021, with bid submissions closing on January 13, 2022. The successful suppliers will be crucial in offering short breaks that allow children to enjoy activities away from their primary carers, thereby enhancing their social and personal development as well as providing respite for parents and caregivers.

This opportunity is well-suited for businesses engaged in social and community service industries, particularly those specializing in support services for disabled individuals. Companies that can demonstrate strong methodologies, quality service provisions, and competitive pricing will be favourably positioned to compete for this framework. Local service providers as well as larger organisations offering integrated community and health services may find significant avenues for growth through participation in this contract, contributing effectively to the social regeneration of the Derby area.
