Summary of the contracting process

Derby City Council is seeking to establish a contract for Water Treatment Maintenance Services for Pride Park, Derby, classified under environmental services. The procurement process is currently in the Award stage, with a contract signed on 30 December 2021, valued at £620,000. This contract will last for an initial period of 2 years, with the possibility of extending for up to 2 additional years. The contract aims to ensure the operation and maintenance of the groundwater treatment plant, addressing compliance with environmental regulations and discharge permit requirements.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in environmental services, particularly those with expertise in groundwater treatment and pollution monitoring. Companies that offer operation of water-purification plants, groundwater pollution control, or related services would be well-suited to engage in future contract opportunities that may arise as the Council considers longer-term replacement options in the coming months. The highly specialised nature of these services suggests limited competition, indicating a promising market for capable providers in this sector.
