Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is undertaking a procurement process for the "External Wall Survey pilot project," which falls under fire and explosion protection and control consultancy services. The procurement is in the Award stage, following a direct award approach due to the urgent need for fire risk assessments for the highest-risk buildings in the borough. The contract is valued at £323,000, with a signing date of 7th December 2021, and the procurement process was initiated to expedite necessary assessments and reparation works to ensure resident safety.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in fire engineering and risk consultancy services. Companies with expertise in conducting fire risk assessments and those equipped to handle emergency safety concerns would be well-suited to compete for future projects stemming from the outcomes of this pilot. The urgency and importance of resident safety in tower blocks indicate a growing market for firms capable of delivering compliant and effective safety solutions in residential buildings.
